Friendship Tea FAQ’s
Are you wondering what Friendship Tea is about?
Friendship Tea is an event hosted by Grace’s Women’s Ministry. The event provides a fun, casual, dressy environment so we can fellowship together. It’s planned in May near Mother’s Day so we can celebrate woman hood and is geared for all ages. It will be in the hall/gym just like last year. All children, boys and girls are welcome, even infants.
This year’s theme is the “Story of My Teacup”, please bring your favorite tea cup to sip from and share a good story with the ladies!
How much does it cost? And can I pay at the door?
Cost of tickets is $15 and $10 for children 10 and under. Tickets must be purchased in advance before May 4th so we can accurately plan food and have enough seating. There will be no ticket sales at the door.
Where can I buy my tickets?
Ticket sales will begin in April between church services and where SCRIP is sold. You can also purchase tickets through the school finance office during regular hours (check or cash).
What will the ticket cost cover and include?
Cost will cover the cost of food, catered desserts, flowers, decorations, favors, and promotional fees. We will be serving English Tea lunch that consists of salad, tea sandwiches, baked goods, desserts, beverage and a variety of tea selections.
Can I participate in the fashion show and have tea too?
Yes, the more participants we have for the show the merrier. While the others browse the boutique, you’ll be changing for the Fashion Show and you won’t miss out on the dessert! Again all ages are welcome, last year our youngest model was 6 months old!
How can I be part of the fashion show?
Sign up at VolunteerSpot: http://vols.pt/CNkgED We will reach out to you at the end of April to finalize the outfit descriptions. You must be able to attend the practice schedule Friday, May 9th 6 p.m.
Where do I get the clothes for the fashion show?
You will have to provide for this, it’s a chance to show off your new wardrobe. Guests will enjoy a showcase for spring/summer 2014 as well as creativity put together from 2nd hand clothing stores.
What is the Boutique?
The boutique will have a beautiful handmade quilt, a glass front curio cabinet, small furniture items, decorative pieces, tea items, and more…the quilt and cabinet will be raffled separately (distinctively for Retreat scholarships), but all items are ‘ticket raffle sales’ which are purchased $5 for one ticket, and $20 for 5 tickets. You then place your purchased raffle tickets with the items you would like to be included in for the raffle pull.
How will the money raised by the boutique be spent?
This is our unique opportunity to raise funds to support Women’s Ministry. Ongoing needs include retreat costs, scholarships, and special events which bring us together in His love and fellowship.
