Cheryl Hernandez
Director of Music
Cheryl grew up at Grace Lutheran Church alongside her mother who was the organist here for over thirty years. Literally, she has been involved in the music at Grace since she was born! Cheryl has been the esteemed Music Director at Grace for the past 11 years. She received her music degree from Cal State Fullerton and then performed around Europe with a talented group called Extraordinary Students of America.
After meeting her husband Hector, she moved back to Escondido and married him. Cheryl taught piano and started a family, giving birth to two beautiful girls. Sydney is now a fifteen year old student athlete at San Pasqual High School, and Brooke is an athletic 6th grader at Grace Lutheran School. When Cheryl isn’t sitting at the keyboard in church, she is usually at her second home—the soccer fields—with her family!
