Jim Young has been Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church and Schools for the last 24 years. He first began his ministry after graduating from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. Next, he earned his Master’s degree in Physical Education at Nebraska University and then taught at Lutheran High School in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, he coached football and baseball. Later, Jim attended Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and was ordained as a pastor into the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Pastor Jim believes it is fun to be saved and has a passion to help people come to know and then grow in their faith and love for Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.
Jim and his wife, Betty, have been married forever and have two children and five grandchildren who are the joys of their lives. He still enjoys playing ball and watching sports with his family. Even though Pastor Jim grew up rooting for the Los Angeles Dodgers, he now likes the San Diego Padres and has discovered that God is a San Diego Charger fan!
